Passive house

The family house stands in the territory of the Protected Landscape Area of the Jizera Mountains. Prescribed regulations and principles of energy-saving construction significantly determined the appearance of the house. The compact building with a rectangular floor plan is covered with a gable roof with a continuous window. The living rooms of the house are located along the facade oriented exactly to the south. Other rooms are located in the northern half of the house, including a projecting vestibule. The house is designed as a wooden building with an inner wall made of sand-lime bricks. Uncoated larch planks are used for the cladding of the facade. The house is heated as hot air with air recovery, and solar panels heat domestic water.
