City Library

Building No. 45 on Havlíčková street in Frýdlant was built at the very end of the 19th century as a school dairy with the full operation. The production of milk and other popular products ended in the 90s of the last century, and to this day this interesting building has not found any further use. The richly decorated street facade gives the building an appearance of a city palace, and the location of the city library is following the architectural expression of the building.

The interior spaces will be modified for the new function and the dilapidated extension in the yard will be removed. The first two floors are designed for library spaces and rooms for association activities. The attic will be used for short-term accommodation, just as it was in the past during the operation of the dairy school. The building is located in the floodplain of the Smědá river, and it is not possible to use the basement spaces, where those dairy tubs can still be seen.
